Mr. Sathya Murthy M.Ch Orth, FRCS Orth, FRCS, Dip Ortho is one of the leading shoulder surgeons in Kent. During his Orthopaedic career, spanning over 30 years, he has had training at renowned hospitals in United Kingdom, Ireland and India.   He qualified in 1983, obtained Diploma in Orthopaedic Surgery in 1987 and Intercollegiate Fellowship in Orthopaedics and Masters Degree in Orthopaedic Surgery from University of Liverpool in 1999.


Mr. Murthy’s expertise is with keyhole arthroscopic surgery of shoulder, elbow & knee joints and Sports injuries. He has performed over a thousand arthroscopic procedures for range of conditions such as impingement, frozen shoulder, rotator cuff tears, Acromioclavicular joint & shoulder dislocations, sports injuries and state of art superior capsular repairs & cartilage regeneration.

He performs a range of shoulder replacements including resurfacing arthroplasty, hemi-arthroplasty, anatomic total shoulder and Reverse geometry shoulder replacements.

Mr. Murthy offers One-stop shoulder clinic. He has skills in several out-patient techniques to facilitate quick recovery of acutely painful joints. This includes ultra-sound guided shoulder injections, nerve blocks, Platelet – Rich- Plasma (PRP) injections and Syn-Visc injections.


Mr. Murthy has had the privilege of undergoing advanced Shoulder surgery training under the guidance of two Past Presidents of the British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS).  Mr. Murthy’s Sports Fellowship training in Shoulder, Knee and sports injuries was at the prestigious Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

He completed training in knee ligament reconstruction and joint replacement including patella-femoral and compartmental replacements at the Professorial unit at Southampton University Hospital. As a Senior Registrar at the Cappagh National Orthopedic Hospital, Dublin, he obtained extensive training in hip and knee replacements.
